The Resurrection of New Orleans

New Orleans Saints 31, Indianapolis Colts 17. Wait...what?!

Saints 31, Colts 17....

The New Orleans Saints, a team that has had over 40 years of overwhelming futility defeated the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday night to win their first Super Bowl title. Feb. 7, 2010 was the date. Super Bowl XLIV was the occasion. And boy, did the Saints rise to the occasion.

For a city that was 85-percent underwater in 2005, this was the night that told everybody “New Orleans is back.”

UFC Fighters' perspectives on Sunday's big game

TSC's Super Bowl XLIV Preview

Most football picks columns choose a winner and a loser. That's why it's called a picks column, right? Sure, but here's what I'm doing for Super Bowl: picking both the Colts and Saints to win.

Well not really, but I'm going to give each team the top three reasons they will win on Sunday (then I'll pick the winner just to be official).

TSC Interviews: Indianapolis Colts Legend Chris Hinton

Chris Hinton went from offensive line to fine wine. A vastly different career path from his previous one.

Hinton played 13 season in the NFL for the Indianapolis Colts (1983-1989), Atlanta Falcons (1990-1993), and Minnesota Vikings (1994-1995). Originally drafted fourth overall in the 1983 NFL Draft, Hinton was traded by the Denver Broncos for some guy named John Elway.

Photo of The Day: New Orleans Saints...Your NFC Champions?!

It's hard to believe the New Orleans Saints are going to the Super Bowl, after defeating a tough Brett Favre-led Minnesota Vikings team that looked poised to return to the promise land for the first time since 1976.

Instead, it's the Saints who defeated the Vikings 31-28 in overtime via Garrett Hartley field goal. Let's just say Mr. Hartley may have more lady friends than Tiger Woods this week.
