The Premier League: Flops of The Decade

By Chibueze Kelvin Osuoji of BleacherReport.com

It's one day into the next decade, as we all know awesome articles have been flooding the website about top ten of the decade. So I decided to do a not-so-great of the decade in the EPL.

I will do a brief explanation of how I got the people who are featured in this article.

They must have been projected to do good or were performing were they were previously. Also price paid for their services is a factor.

Manchester United: Five Defenders For The Decade

by Nathan Lowe of BleacherReport.com

With the decade coming to a close, editors everywhere are clamoring for the somewhat arbitrary articles ranking players and such.

Though perhaps not the most original articles, these types of pieces generally foster great debate, bringing clicks and double-views from fans across the globe.

CBS: Scared straight? McNair case has negligible impact on NFL infidelity

Here is just a portion Mike Freeman's column on CBSSports.com. Go out of your way to read this:

In the days following the gruesome death of Steve McNair, a current NFL player who was actually a friend of the Tennessee quarterback made several hurried phone calls.

There were five to be exact, he says. They began with one to each of his four girlfriends. He was, and still is, married to a former business executive.

by Erik Bartlett of BleacherReport.com

These are the 10 athletes who, in my opinion, will become household names in 2010. With apologies to the rest of the world, this list is primarily based towards the American market. Undoubtedly, future stars will emerge at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, however I'm sticking to names that will be remembered in American households for years to come.

No replay for Ireland?

After the controversial game on Nov 18 2009, where Henry assisted on a goal using his hands, Ireland asked FIFA for a replay. Even after Henry admitted that the hand ball was intentional, FIFA declined the replay. As FIFA stated "Judgments that are made by a referee during the game are final".

Only top soccer stars can use their hands!

CHARLES PLATIAU

It’s nice to see the top goal of the week involving hands, especially when it’s one of the world’s most threatening strikers, Thierry Henry. Shocking really, but who in their right mind would go up to a referee after scoring saying "By the way, I touched the ball with my hand."

Henry admits handball was well, a handball. Sorry, Ireland!

You won't see these guys at your local pub.

France's Thierry Henry and Martin Hansson, the referee of France vs Ireland in the World Cup qualifier, will forever be hated. Well, at least by fans of Irish soccer, who have a right to be angered, due to Henry blatantly controlling the ball with his hand twice during the game.

Barclays Premier League is known worldwide for being one of the most competitive soccer leagues.

What makes it highly watched are the dominant teams that are involved. Just look at the teams: Manchester United, which is probably the most popular and watched soccer club in the world, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Tottenham.
