Back story : "Stone Cold" Steve Austin was supposed to compete for the WWF Championship, but was hit by a car backstage. In reality, Austin had a serious neck problem that required surgery and for him to be out a year, stemming from a botched piledriver in a match with Owen Hart at Summerslam 1997 in August of that year. Hence the reason Vince McMahon selected The Big Show as a replacement.

2. Batista beat Rey Mysterio via ref stoppage at 6:50.

WWE has hyped Survivor Series pretty well this year. Well..sort of. I love what they've done with the traditional Survivor Series elimination matches, but the WWE Championship triple threat build up has been extremely suspect at best. Regardless of all that, this card looks damn good on paper and definitely a lot better than last year's lackluster showing by far. It's time to preview and predict Survivor Series 2009!
