Bobby Lashley is a different kind of athlete.

He started out as an excellent amateur wrestling, becoming a standout Olympic prospect while attending Missouri Valley College, where he became a decorated champion. Unfortunately, an event beyond his control occurred that put his amateur career to an end.

Some athletes would have been discouraged and ventured into endeavors beyond the world of athletics, but not Bobby Lashley.

Bill Simmons: Pro Wrestling is a disgrace

ESPN Page 2 columnist "The Sports Guy" Bill Simmons is my favorite writer. He is witty, humorous, knowledgeable, makes professional wrestling references from time to time (he was a fan). Unfortunately, Simmons made some comments that were not kind to wrestling. However, it's not that they were bad or dishonest comments. The sad thing is that everything Simmons said is true:

Here's a nice graphic Kupy Wrestling has made in honor of the recently-passed Eddie "Umaga" Fatu", who died of a heart attack a week ago. Why did we put this up?

Because Vince McMahon didn't have the class to have anyone acknowledge Fatu's death on air or even via a freaking graphic.

On December 4, 2009, the world of professional wrestling suffered yet another untimely loss. This time, it was Eddie Fatu, better known to most as former WWE superstar Umaga. It has been reported that Fatu suffered a massive heart attack, which led to his death.
