According to USATODAY.com, UFC 153 officially has a new main event.
UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva will face popular veteran Stephan Bonnar in a three round, non-title, light heavyweight bout on October 13 at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Also new to the card, Fabio Maldonado fills in for the injured Rampage Jackson to take on Glover Teixeira in the co-main event and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira returns from a devastating arm injury, suffered in his submission loss to Frank Mir back in December, to fight Dave Herman.
The original main event featured Jose Aldo vs. Erik Koch for the featherweight title, but that was scrapped when Koch got injured. Then former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar stepped in for Koch, only to have Aldo pull out with a foot injury a couple weeks later. Aldo vs. Edgar is expected to take place later this year.
