The Best Damn Wrestling Rumor Mill 2/8/10

WWE

* There were rumblings about possibly having Goldberg be a surprise entrant in the 2010 Royal Rumble but officials thought that the sight of Goldberg in a WWE would spook Bret Hart.

* After months of having Matt Striker call fellow Matt, Hardy, the "heart and soul of SmackDown", expect to hear Michael Cole start referring to Jack Swagger Raw's heart and soul. Neither wrestler is particularly doing anything of significance and this way they will feel somewhat important.

* The Honky Tonk Man turned down being inducted into the WWE's Hall of Fame citing the restrictions working with the WWE would place on him. However, there have been murmurings that he feels that if he is accepting his award at the HoF ceremony, Ultimate Warrior might make a run-in and pin him in 32 seconds again.

* Hornswoggle hasn't been featured much on TV lately as he's been recovering from a little bit of surgery.

* After word came out that the WWE was changing ECW to NXT, a Scottish wrestling company was found to already use the NXT name. Vince McMahon was quoted as saying, "If Michelle McCool can blatantly steal AJ Styles' attire and move, I see nothing wrong with me stealing another promotion's name."

* Hurricane Helms has been rumored to be a participant on an upcoming episode of HBO's Taxi Cab Confessions.

TNA

* After re-creating the Montreal Screwjob, TNA officials have been going through old WWE tapes to find other angles to redo. Word on the street is next month we will get Abyss and Mr. Anderson in a Katie Vick-esque storyline.

* The entrance ramp to the ring was supposedly put in place for when Hulk Hogan decides to raid the local retirement homes and wheel past legends to the ring so they can beat the homegrown TNA talents.

* After nude photos hit the Internet featuring TNA star Frankie Kazarian, the wrestler has been telling everyone he's innocent. The photos are of Suicide, not him.

* Dixie Carter was interviewed by CanMag where she said, "...And if you treat people the way you want to be treated, I think it will go a long way in our success. We have fun. It’s a great atmosphere, and these guys work so much harder because of that. And that’s why I think we are going to have so much success.” In related news, Homicide has been said to be very disgruntled over the way he is being used, or lack there of.

* No one should be surprised by the uncertainty of TNA's schedule come March. Are they going to Mondays or staying on Thursdays? TNA has always stood for There's Never Assurance.

* Several TNA fans have banned together to hire John Walsh in hopes of getting some answers as to the whereabouts of Beer Money, Awesome Kong, Hamada, Taylor Wilde, and Sarita.

Ring of Honor

* Because of the controversy between ROH and DGUSA, a few TV executives are trying to pen a soap opera that will feature Cary Silken, Davey Richards, and Gabe Sapolsky.

* After the recent snowstorm in the Northeast, Rhett Titus was seen leaving his hotel room re-enacting the following commercial.
