Former WWE and TNA Impact Wrestling star Bobby Lashley told Fighters Only that he is currently throwing his name in the hat for a potential matchup with MMA legend Fedor Emelianenko, which would take place in Russia.

Lashley is currently 2-0 on the regional MMA circuit, after leaving Strikeforce, following a loss to Chad Griggs. Emelianenko is coming off of a dominant performance against Satoshi Ishii and has won two straight fights, following a disappointing 1-3 stint in Strikeforce.

“I'm going to throw everything at him that I can. Of course, my wrestling's there, I don't give a damn what he's doing. I'd put my wrestling up there with almost anyone right now.

“I think that my wrestling would trump some of the things that he has. I know he's a great fighter, but if I fought him then of course I'm going to try and wrestle him down... If it was Dave [Bautista], I'm standing and banging with him. I've been doing a lot of boxing."

We interviewed Lashley back in March 2010 about his MMA career. Keep in mind, Lashley was undefeated and still with Strikeforce at the time. If Lashley can secure a fight and an upset victory over Emelianenko, it will revitalize his once-promising MMA career.
