INVICTA FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIPS TO AWARD ITS “BIGGEST FAN” WITH ALL-EXPENSES PAID TRIP TO JULY 28 EVENT IN KANSAS CITY
Three prize winners for fan-created videos to be determined in online voting poll
KANSAS CITY, Kan.– Women’s Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) promotion Invicta Fighting Championships is determined to find its biggest fan and, thus, will award each of three winners of a fan-submitted video contest with an exciting prize package. The grand prize winner will receive an all-expenses paid trip for two people to the upcoming Invicta FC 2: Baszler vs. McMann event at Memorial Hall in Kansas City on Sat., July 28.
“We want to provide a fun, interactive way to enhance the overall Invicta FC fan experience and give fans an opportunity to win something in exchange for demonstrating their creativity and enthusiasm for the Invicta FC brand and the sport of MMA,” said Invicta FC President, Shannon Knapp.
Until 11:59 p.m. CT on Sat., July 14, fans can enter the contest by submitting an original video, no longer than three minutes, demonstrating why they are the promotion’s biggest fan. Guidelines for submitting an entry as well as all prize details are listed on the Invicta FC “Biggest Fan Video Contest” web page on InvictaFC.com.
In addition to entering the contest, fans will have the opportunity to vote for the winners in an online poll that will be held on InvictaFC.com, beginning Sun., July 15 at 12:01 a.m. CT until Tues., July 17 at 11:59 p.m. The winners will be announced and contacted on Weds., July 18 and will be determined by a combination of online poll results, total video views and Invicta FC staff votes.
Fans must be 18 years of age or older to enter the contest.
Tickets for the highly-anticipated Invicta FC 2: Baszler vs. McMann event, priced from $25, are available for purchase at Memorial Hall box office (913) 549-4853), online at Ticketmaster.com and InvictaFC.com and by phone at (800) 745-3000.
In the bantamweight main event, 2004 Olympic Wrestling Silver Medalist and undefeated MMA star Sara McMann (5-0) of Gaffney, SC. and battle-tested submission wizard Shayna “The Queen of Spades” Baszler (14-6) of Sioux Falls, SD.
In the co-main event, Hitomi “Girlfight Monster” Akano (18-9) of Tokyo, Japan will square off with Japanese Jiu-Jitsu black belt and Cesar Gracie-protégé Alexis Davis (11-5) of Colborne, Ontario Canada at bantamweight.
In other main card action, U.S. Marine and rising bantamweight star Liz “Girl-rilla” Carmouche (6-2) of San Diego, Calif. will square off with St. Louis Park, Minnesota’s Kaitlin Young (7-5-1), who earned “Fight of the Night” honors at the inaugural Invicta event on April 28.
Submission specialist Sarah “The Monster” D’Alelio (5-2) of San Jose, Calif. will lock up with streaking superstar Vanessa Porto (14-4) of Sao Paulo, Brazil at bantamweight.
In another bantamweight scrap, power striker Leslie “The Peacemaker” Smith (3-2-1) of Pleasant Hill, Calif. will battle fellow hard-hitting KO artist Amanda “Lioness of the Ring” Nunes (6-2) of Salvador, Bahia Brazil
JEWELS champion Akaya Hamasaki (7-0) of Yamaguchi, Japan will head to Kansas City, Kan. to square off with fellow undefeated star Jasminka “Impressive” Cive (5-0) of Graz, Styria Austria in a flyweight (115 pounds) matchup
