CM Punk turned heel on the 1,000th episode of Monday Night Raw, following his WWE Championship match against Money in The Bank winner John Cena.
The match ended when Cena had Punk locked in the STF, but Big Show interfered for the disqualification. Earlier in the match, there was a ref bump and Show knocked Cena out cold. Punk was unsuccessful in pinning Cena by the time the ref was revived.
After the match, Punk looked on as Show destroyed Cena, only for The Rock to run in for the save. As Rock set up Show for the People's Elbow, he ate a clothesline from Punk--followed by a GTS.
It looks like this was the big angle rumored to close out Raw 1,000 and it makes for an interesting development heading into SummerSlam next month.
A triple threat match of Punk vs. Cena vs. Show with Rock as the special guest referee for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam? Sounds like a potential plan....
