Update 5/27/12: WrestlingObserver.com reports the meeting between Lesnar and White did not go well. It's also suggested that if Lesnar shows up on RAW tomorrow, it's most likely to hype his angle with Triple H. And if he's not on RAW and/or there's no mention of his UFC appearance, then well...there's more to that story.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar (5-3 MMA, 4-3 UFC) made a surprise appearance at UFC 146: Dos Santos vs. Mir on Saturday night.

He was shown on camera sitting in the front row, right before the heavyweight championship main event.

Lesnar is currently in the midst of a one-year deal with professioal wrestling/sports entertainment juggernaut WWE, rumored to be worth $5 million.

Considering Lesnar is not one to embrace the limelight in his downtime, there had to be a reason for his appearance. When UFC president Dana White was asked about Lesnar's MMA future during the post-fight press conference, the boss said that he could be considering a comeback to the Octagon. White also said he would speak to Lesnar later.

Lesnar is the biggest draw in UFC history and helped the promotion soar to new heights, until health problems and two brutal back-to-back first round TKO losses halted his once unstoppable momentum. He announced his retirement from MMA on December 31, 2011, immediately following his loss to Alistair Overeem.

Months later, he returned to the company that made him a star in professional wrestling--WWE--the night after WrestleMania XXVIII.

According to WrestlingObserver.com, White would be open to using Lesnar while he is still a contracted WWE superstar because people are smart enough to know the difference between MMA (real sport) and pro wrestling (predetermined sports entertainment).

Lesnar is currently penciled in to wrestle Triple H at SummerSlam this August in Los Angeles.

Could this be in response to Bellator and TNA Wrestling's signing of 'King Mo' Lawal? And could WWE chairman Vince McMahon and the UFC president really work out a deal?

Perhaps, this could simply be Lesnar selling his "I quit WWE" storyline. He could also be sending a message to WWE, after he was booked to lose his comeback match to John Cena last month (yes, the decision is mind-boggling) by telling the company in a not-so-subtle way 'I still have options.' Then again, working limited dates with less wear-and-tear and damage for millions of dollars beats getting punched in the face for a living.

More on this huge story as it develops.
