Photo of The Day: The Big Unit shuts down

Pitcher Randy Johnson announced his retirement on Tuesday after 22 distinguished seasons in the MLB. He finishes with a record of 303-166, along with 4,875 strikeouts. The 10-time All Star and four-time Cy Young winner played Montreal, Seattle, Houston, Arizona, the New York Yankees, and San Francisco. His strikeouts are the most by a left-handed pitcher and second to the legendary Nolan Ryan's 5,714.

Johnson is most famous for his first stint in Arizona, where the team won the World Series by defeating the New York Yankees in 2001. He was co-MVP of that World Series with Curt Schilling.
