According to a report from Pro Wrestling Torch (PWTorch.com) and Wade Keller, top WWE superstar John Cena and the returning Brock Lesnar have not always seen eye-to-eye.
We've heard the stories about how WWE was going to foolishly release Cena before former writer Seth Mates and head of creative Stephanie McMahon heard him freestyling in late 2002--but this is a new revelation.
According to Keller, Lesnar despised Cena in 2002-2003, to the point where he'd often bad mouth the then-up-and-comer, even when it'd seem like he was making positive progress. One example cited in the report is the body language of Lesnar during his WWE Championship match with Cena in April 2003 at the Backlash pay-per-view, which was less than stellar.
Obviously for business reasons, whatever beef the two had eight years ago may not matter these days, but we wonder what would happen for Lesnar's latest WWE run to wind down. Would Lesnar be willing to put over anyone other than The Rock on his way out?
Assuming he doesn't stick around for another year after WrestleMania XXIX of course....
