TSC Interviews: UFC Hall of Famer Dan "The Beast" Severn

I feel bad for people that don't really know about Dan "The Beast" Severn. He was a beast long before Bob Sapp was (a lot more athletic too).
He could out-wrestle many of his opponents. Hell, he still could today.
Severn may be a few years north of age 50, but The Beast continues to fight, as well as tour the country, showcasing his skills and passing them along to any upstart that's willing to listen and learn.
In the world of Mixed Martial Arts, Severn dominated. The Arizona State University alum is one of the pioneers of MMA and is in the UFC Hall of Fame.
Not bad for a guy that's the only Triple Crown champion in UFC history.

Oh, but it doesn't stop there.
The Beast was also a standout amateur wrestler in college, even being named an Olympic alternate on two occasions.
But it doesn't stop there!
You see, Severn also got into the world of professional wrestling, where he became a two-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion, which included one reign that spanned from 1995 to 1999.
Damn. And he went to WWE for a cup of coffee in the late 90s during the Attitude Era, although he did have some memorable feuds with MMA rival Ken Shamrock and the late, great Owen Hart.
Did I mention he has a mustache that is worthy of envy?
With all seriousness, Dan Severn is one of the greatest athletes in American sports history. Hard work, dedication, and perseverance can all sum up Severn's career. And he's still going.
As Dan put it best, "I've been chemical free my whole life." His secret sauce for his success? "The only secret sauce I have is what every other human being has. Pizza sauce. Pasta sauce. All kinds of sauce."
You got to love the guy's sense of humor humor.
