MAIN CARD on PPV
Featherweight bout: Jim Hettes vs. Nam Phan
ROUND ONE:
Hettes gets the single leg takedown. Phan gets back his feet, but Hettes is relentless and takes Phan down again. Hettes is all over him. Phan wallwalks, but takes some knees to the body. Hettes takes him down into a one-arm guillotine. He lost it. Hettes is throwing some beastly ground-and-pound. Hettes takes Phan's back. He's got one hook in and he's riding Phan like no tomorrow. Phan is getting overwhelmed, but somehow gets back to his feet. He gets a solid ovation from the Las Vegas crowd.
Phan answers back with a good right hand. Hettes jumps back on him and hip tosses him right into side control. Full mount by Hettes. Hettes could be 10-0 by the end of this round. Hettes goes for an armbar. Hettes is rocking Phan with ground-and-pound, as he's trying to get the armbar, Full mount by Hettes, but somehow Phan survives. Hettes helps Phan up. Unbelievable domination by Hettes.
10-8 Hettes
ROUND TWO:
Hettes mauls Phan and takes him down again. I know Hettes looked good against Alex Caceres, but he's dominating a real MMA veteran here. Hettes locks in a side choke, but can't get it. Full mount. Tries to go for a guillotine choke. Phan escapes and gets back on top. Phan works for some ground-and-pound. Phan avoids a couple of upkicks. Phan is busted open and pressed up against the cage. Hettes tags him with some body shots. Drags Phan to the ground again. Phan gets back up to his feet, but is still against the fence. They separate and Phan throws a faint knee to the body.
Hettes trying to hip toss Phan again. Takedown to side control. Big punches on the ground. Phan is getting his ass kicked. Badly. He tried for a guillotine again. Couldn't get it, so he took him down. Hettes will win this fight if he keeps his head straight.
10-8 Hettes
ROUND THREE:
Phan needs a miracle. Body kick by Hettes. I can't believe Hettes is only a purple belt. Hettes is showing off his long reach. Phan hita him with a jab. Clinch. Takedown by Hettes. Story of this fight. Phan is trying to get back up, but Hettes won't let go of that waistlock. A lotta decisions tonight in Vegas (actually all fights tonight so far have been decisions), but some solid action overall. Phan tries to strike him, but gets taken down again. Hettes is on top, trying to take his back. Hettes gets an arm triangle attempt. Doesn't get it, but throws some vicious shots to the ground.
10-8 Hettes
