--Brock Lesnar announced his retirement from MMA, following his first-round TKO loss to Alistair Overeem. He will be missed by this MMA fan.

--UFC 141: Lesnar vs. Overeem drew 12,158 in attendance for a live gate of $3.1 million at Las Vegas, Nevada's MGM Grand Garden Arena.

--UFC president Dana White said that UFC 141 was held on Friday, so it wouldn't conflict with New Year's Eve. It's not likely Zuffa will do Friday shows again any time soon.

--Overeem says he envisions his UFC heavyweight title fight with Junior dos Santos taking place before or during Summer 2012. Not sure if that's just personal preference or the realistic timetable for JDS' return following knee surgery.

--Matt Riddle vs. Luis Ramos was scrapped from the card, due to Riddle stricken with an illness the day of the fight.

--Fight bonuses for UFC 141 are $75,000 each.
