Light heavyweight bout: Forrest Griffin (18-7) vs. Tito Ortiz (16-10-1) III - Tito's retirement fight

Round One: 

This is the rubber match. If Griffin loses this one, who the hell knows where he goes from here, given he lost last August to Shogun Rua in quick fashion via TKO. The last two Ortiz-Griffin fights ended via split decision. First one to Ortiz. Next to Griffin.

Griffin fires his trademark leg kicks. Front kick by Griffin. Ortiz rushes at Griffin and takes him down. Open guard. Ortiz tries to work on the ground and pound. He pulls Griffin away from the cage. Big shots by Ortiz. Griffin does a butterfly sweep up to his feet. Body kick by Griffin. They trade combos. Griffin working the jab. Body kick by Griffin blocked. Jab by Griffin, followed by a body kcik. Ortiz went high with a kick as well. Leg kick by Griffin. 

Combo ends with an uppercut by Griffin. Takedown attempt by Ortiz stuffed. Uppercut by Griffin. They tie up and Griffin shakes Ortiz off. Godo body shots by Griffin, who pushes Ortiz off again. Ortiz isn't doing much on the feet. Right hand by Griffin. Griffin has never been submitted and Ortiz hasn't in over a decade according to Goldberg. Leg kick by Griffin. Superman punch by Griffin. Ortiz gets the takedown at the end of the round. 

I think the judges will give Ortiz the round due to takedowns, but Griffin did more overall in my book. 

10-9 Griffin

Round Two:

Big right by Ortiz early in the round. Stumbles Griffin. Griffin presses Ortiz against the cage. TITO chants. Knee by Griffin. Jab by Ortiz. Leg kick by Griffin. They trade punches. Body kick by Griffin. Right hand by Ortiz. Now crowd chants FORREST. These former light heavyweight champions are putting on a show. Leg kicks by Griffin. Body kick by Griffin. Good combo by Griffin after ducking under. Uppercut. Jabs. Ortiz slowly getting picked apart now. Head body combo by Griffin. Left by Ortiz. 

Right hand by Griffin. Head kick by Griffin. Griffin definitely getting the better of the standup with his volume of strikes, strikes landed, and consistency. Uppercut by Griffin, but Ortiz answers back. Ortiz ducks under for the takedown, but Griffin gets on his knees and stuffs him. Ortiz hangs on to the leg and eats hammerfists as the round ends.

Round Three:

On a side note, Ortiz was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame earlier today. FORREST chants. Body kick by Griffin. Jab by Ortiz. Griffin tags Ortiz. Griffin just looks faster and lighter on his feet than Ortiz. Ortiz knocks Griffin down on his ass with a big shot that sends Griffin tumbling. Griffin gets back up, but Ortiz takes him down. Open guard. Now loud TITO chants. Full guard. Griffin trying to tie Ortiz up. Griffin triyng to sweep himself back up, but unsuccessful halfway through this round. Griffin attempts a kimura off his back, but losing it. Griffin gets his back to the cage and gets up.
