Round One:

This is a must-win for Okami. Roberts takes this fight on short notice after Rousimar Palhares got injured. Roberts is pushing forward. Throws the head kick and some quick combos. Roberts trains under Greg Jackson and Mike Winkeljohn. Roberts is connecting, as Rogan points out. Roberts clips Okami with a left. Jab by Roberts. They lock up. Okami presses Roberts against the cage. Okami tries to get Roberts down. Roberts stays on his feet. Okami finally drags Roberts down and takes his back. He spins out. Okami on top. Roberts on his back. He tries to attack off his back with an omoplata. Full guard now. 

Crowd booing a bit, but this is a good fight. Okami transitions to side control and attempts a mounted crucifix. Roberts trying to roll over. Okami isn't doing any damage on the ground, but as I type that he ends up in full mount. Roberts flattened, covering up, as Herb Dean tells him to fight back. Saved by the bell, although it looks like Roberts covered up well--but you can only cover up so long before the ref steps in. He got lucky.

Round Two:

Combo by Roberts, but he slipped. Big left by Roberts. Straight left by Okami, who presses Roberts against the cage. He hangs onto Roberts and drags him to the ground. Roberts gets a guillotine position, but loses it. He gets back to his feet, but Okami takes him down with the double leg. Half guard. Okami trying to transition to side control. Full mount for Okami. Roberts gives up his back. Roberts completely flattened out. Roberts not doing anything, but he's blocking the shots. Ref stops the fight. Crowd boos. It didn't look like Okami damaged him too badly, but the reality is the ref wasn't gonna stand them up and Roberts wasn't going to escape. Good fight while it lasted. Okami snaps his two-fight losing streak. 

Official Decision: Yushin Okami (27-6) def. Buddy Roberts (12-3) via TKO (punches) at 3:05 of Round Two.
