According to MMAFighting.com, UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones makes history as the first mixed martial arts fighter to sign a global sponsorship with Nike.

This is a major coup for Jones, his manager Malki Kawa, the UFC, and the sport of MMA.

Whether or not this puts even more pressure on Jones, leading into his fifth title defense at UFC 151 against Dan Henderson, remains to be seen.

So much for that DWI charge affecting his sponsorships.....

UFC 151 takes place September 1 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, NV and airs live at 10pm/ET on pay-per-view.
