ATLANTA, GA--UFC president Dana White confirmed at the UFC 145 post-fight press conference that Jon Jones (16-1 MMA, 10-1 UFC) will defend his light heavyweight championship against Dan Henderson (29-8 MMA, 5-2 UFC) following his unanimous decision victory over Rashad Evans.

Henderson has won four straight fights over Babalu Sobral, Feijao Cavalcante, Fedor Emelianenko (a heavyweight bout), and Mauricio "Shogun" Rua--the last fight being an absolute classic. The man fans know as Hendo has put together a legendary career with a UFC 17 Middleweight Tournament win, as well simultaneously holding the PRIDE middleweight and welterweight championships.

Jones' light heavyweight championship run has been the most dominant since the era of Chuck Liddell in the mid-2000s, with wins over Rua (to win the title), Rampage Jackson, Lyoto Machida, and of course most recently, Evans.

A date and venue for Jones vs. Henderson is to be determined.
