UFC President Dana White and UFC.com, middleweight powerhouses Hector Lombard (31-3-1, 1 NC) and Rousimar Palhares (14-4) will face off in the main event of UFC on FX 6. The event takes place in Lombard's other home country of Australia, where he made a name for himself on its MMA scene.

Both fighters are coming off of losses. Lombard lost for the first time in 25 fights back in July to Tim Boetsch via split decision, although the former Bellator middleweight champion cites a chest injury as the reason for his lackluster performance. It was also his Octagon debut, which may have played a part in how tentative he was.

Palhares was previously on a three fight win streak before getting dominated by Alan Belcher in May, losing in the first round via TKO (punches and elbows). The heel hook machine in Palhares has always been an enigma and his own worst enemy when it comes to mental errors, although it's safe to say in his last fight, he was simply outclassed.

A dominant win for Lombard can quickly reestablish him in the title hunt, as he was one impressive victory away from a shot at Anderson Silva going into his fight with Boetsch.

Also on the card, The Ultimate Fighter: Australia vs. UK coaches will fight, along with the two finalists of the TUF tournament. The version of TUF dubbed "The Smashes," airs in Australia and should be available on UFC.com/UFC.tv in the near future.

UFC on FX 6 takes place Saturday, December 15 in Australia at a venue to be announced.
