Video: WWE Smackdown is Edge 4/15/11
Check out last Friday night's episode of WWE Smackdown, featuring Edge surrendering his World Heavyweight Title and confirming his retirement. Our own Jimmy Dylan has a preview for those that didn't watch Smackdown below!
I would like to take this opportunity to send my thanks, thoughts, and well wishes to Adam Copeland. The man known the world over as the "Rated R Superstar" Edge was forced to retire this week due to ongoing complications stemming from a 2003 surgery to repair a broken neck. The reigning World Heavyweight champion showed up on Raw this past Monday to deliver the shocking and unfortunate news to the unsuspecting WWE Universe. I, for one, still can't believe it, and judging by the reactions of fans on my Youtube channel and Facebook page, the world is still in a state of disbelief. The outpouring of love and sympathy throughout the IWC has been amazing.
Edge gave me many fond memories each and every time I got to see him perform live. The first of many came at WrestleMania XV in Philadelphia when Edge, along with The Brood, descended from the rafters of the First Union Center down upon the Hell in a Cell where they would deliver a noose to their leader, The Undertaker, and proceed to "hang" Big Boss Man from the top of the building. As I said, many more Edge moments would follow throughout the years after. I would like to say thank you Edge! Thanks for the memories. The 5 second poses...the classic E&C promos where they made up words that actually sounded cool...for his contributions to Tables, Ladders, and Chairs...and yes, for destroying the anonymous Raw GM's laptop! Thanks are also in order for Edge giving me the Rated R Superstar.
The mettle of a good heel is tested in their ability to make you love to hate them. Edge was a master at this to say the very least. When Edge turned his back on the fans, he engaged in countless despicable acts that not only raised their collective ire, but re-defined him as one of the industry's leading antagonists. Edge either battled back from the injuries, or fought thru them time and time again to ply his craft in the ring and entertain the millions of fans worldwide. He gave his all to the WWE Universe, and for that we are forever grateful. Leave your comments in the section below telling your favorite, or worst Edge moment. Let us know what you think about the sudden retirement of one of wrestling's brightest and most-decorated Superstars.
How long do you think it will be before Edge takes his rightful place in the hollowed WWE Hall of Fame?
Whatever you do, remember to give thanks to one of the most gifted talents we've seen in a very long time. Then tune into SyFy and watch SmackDown to see the "Rated R Superstar" give his farewell address to the WWE Universe!
THANK YOU EDGE!

Layla vs. Kelly Kelly:
I'm going to be very honest and frank on this one folks. The WWE Divas can do whatever they want from this point forward and it's not really going to matter. They can attempt to climb the ranks all they want, but it will be a lute point when the "mysterious" woman behind the dark video from last Monday finally reveals herself. I gave my thoughts on her imminent arrival this past Monday in my Raw review on the Jimmy Dylan Youtube channel. When WWE's newest Diva shows herself, the Divas championship will soon follow.
Team Lay-Cool are visibly on different pages in the book that once saw them dominant over the Divas division. Mis-communication and lack of discipline spelled defeat for the former co-Woman's champions last week when they faced the team of Kelly Kelly and Beth Phoenix. Tonight, former Expose teammates Layla and Kelly Kelly clash in a 1-on-1 battle stemming from last week's bout. I look for Kelly Kelly to ride the wave of her own momentum as well as capitalize on the obvious unrest within Lay-Cool to secure a singles victory tonight.
Jimmy's Pick: Kelly Kelly
