Kia Stevens aka Kharma confirmed via Twitter that she has been released by WWE.
Stevens was hired by Triple H in 2011 and was in line for a big push before her maternity leave. It seems as though WWE soured on her and/or just didn't know what to do with her. Never mind the fact she's arguably the greatest women's wrestler in the Western Hemisphere or anything.
To be fair to WWE though, Stevens has had a history of personal issues, dating back to her days as Awesome Kong in TNA Impact Wrestling.
Recently, Stevens lost her child during pregnancy and that must have not only took an emotional toll, but delayed her scheduled WWE comeback as well. She was set to return at Extreme Rules to demolish the Bella Twins for the Divas Championship in a ready-made angle (the twins insulted her in an angle prior to her maternity leave), only for WWE to find that scenario too predictable and Layla beat them instead.
Her last appearance was at the Royal Rumble, eliminating Michael Cole and Hunico--along with memorably giving Dolph Ziggler an implant buster.
Hopefully, Stevens will be hired back soon or return to TNA, where she can showcase her talent on a national stage again.
