Update 7/13/12 via WrestlingObserver.com's Dave Meltzer: More bad news for Mr. Laurinaitis....
Speaking of Laurinaitis, his real-life power base is continuing to weaken. HHH now has his people involved and running just about every aspect of the talent relations division. Laurinaitis may still be doing payroll, but he’s mostly these days a performer. The expectation is still that he’s going to be brought back, given he’s still being booked all over the place.
To be fair, Laurinaitis' handling and signing of talent doesn't have the prettiest track record. It actually looks horrendous compared to the guy he succeeded named Jim Ross. You know, the guy that signed John Cena, Steve Austin, Dwayne Johnson, Randy Orton, Brock Lesnar (back in early-2000s), Kurt Angle, Batista, Mick Foley, among others.

According to WrestlingObserver.com's Dave Meltzer, John Laurinaitis is continuing to lose power.
Via WrestlingObserver.com: John Laurinaitis’ real-life power continues to wane. Triple H has not been a big proponent of Laurinaitis, and so many of his duties have been taken away from him and given to HHH hires. Pete Leone has been given more responsibility in talent relations department.
Art imitating reality much? Once HHH (real name Paul Levesque) and his wife Stephanie McMahon (current head of WWE creative) fully take over the company, it is expected that many of Vince McMahon's long-time allies (such as executive producer Kevin Dunn) could very well be on the outs.
Until then, we'll see what happens, but as of right now, the future doesn't look too bright for Mr. Laurinaitis.

--Legendary former WWWF Champion Bruno Sammartino, who was a top star for decades, confirmed to WrestlingObserver.com that he indeed rejected WWE's latest offer to be inducted into the company's Hall of Fame.
Sammartino and Vince McMahon haven't seen eye-to-eye on a lot of things, particularly the way professional wrestling is presented by WWE. Never mind the fact McMahon all but erased Sammartino from the company's early history for quite some time as well. Sammartino told Dave Meltzer that it was HHH who made the phone call and that he respectfully declined the offer. As Meltzer noted on his radio show last week, considering Sammartino has been offered to greenlight a Hollywood, multi-million dollar budgeted movie on his life, a WWE Hall of Fame bid isn't that big of the deal in the grand scheme of things.
Plus, Sammartino's native country of Italy gives out an award named after him. I'll take an award named after me presented by my home country any day over a WWE Hall of Fame bid thank you very much. With all due respect, of course...
