World Heavyweight Championship Two out of Three Falls: Sheamus (C) def. Daniel Bryan.
We got a very good video package before the match. Despite Bryan's promo, he got the biggest pop of the night so far. AJ Lee was stalking him backstage, so she could play a role in this match. Crowd hates Sheamus. Sheamus actually wore an 18 seconds shirt to the ring. That could describe his sex life. Cole has brought up Twitter more times than I'd like one hour into this PPV. Sheamus actually put Bryan in a Dean Malenko Texas Cloverleaf submission. Bryan escaped and nearly cradled him for the first fall.
Bryan tried to dive on the outside, but Sheamus slammed him into the barricade. Sheamus throws him in the ring and tries the battering ram, but Bryan blocks it. Bryan now getting the heat on Sheamus. Crowd has dueling chants of 18 SECONDS, YES YES YES, and DANIEL BRYAN. I love this crowd. Bryan putting on a technical wrestling showcase. Wristlocks, hammerlocks, LeBell Locks, oh my. Lots of nearfalls. They're definitely getting the time they need to finally put on a damn good match together. The announcers are really putting over Bryan's legitimacy. That's certainly a nice repayment for burying him most of 2011. Every time Sheamus hits Bryan, crowd says NO. Bryan kicks Sheamus and gets huge YES YES YES chants. Wait, so Bryan, on a PPV called EXTREME RULES, gets disqualified for KICKING TOO MUCH ASS or "disregarding the ref's decision.
Winner of first fall via DQ: Sheamus (1-0)
Bryan works on the left arm of Sheamus as he has for most of the match. Bryan locks in the LeBell Lock for a comically long time without Sheamus tapping. Sheamus is passed out and Bryan gets the next fall.
Winner of second fall: Daniel Bryan via submission.
As the ref checks on Dead Sheamus, Bryan leads a YES chant for over a minute, with part of the crowd in response saying NO. I love Daniel Bryan and Chicago wrestling crowds. As Sheamus refuses to give up, Bryan goes back to leading the chants. Awesome. Bryan runs at Sheamus and gets hit with a Brogue Kick. Sheamus struggles to get on Bryan for the cover. Kickout by Bryan. Bryan gives Sheamus a kick to the head. Kick out. Sheamus attempts a superplex but gets blocked. Bryan's diving headbutt misses. Splash by Bryan misses. Axe handle. Irish Curse backbreaker by Sheamus. Sheamus then sets up for the Brogue Kick. And hits it. Pinfall. Match of the night so far even if the hot hand lost.
Winner and still World Heavyweight Champion: Sheamus
