WWE No Way Out 2012 Results
This match sucks. Layla takes Phoenix's tiara and does some horrendous mocking. it got awkward for awhile. Layla gets knocked off the apron and thrown into barricade. Phoenix is on a rampage now. To no reaction. Layla won with a neckbreaker. Went way too long.
Winner and STILL DIVAS CHAMPION: LAYLA
AJ Lee approached Kane backstage in darkness. They made it look like they made out, as Kane's long locks covered her face. Creepy. AJ is finally damaged goods.
7. Hunico (w/ Camacho) vs. Sin Cara
Seriously, if they're going to have all these filler matches, the least they could do is advertise them, so it doesn't catch unsuspecting fans ordering this PPV and attending it offguard. "Battle of luchadores. No one cares," says Joseph Pompa. I don't blame them. Hunico, who is super talented has become a jobber and Sin Cara has no momentum, only being back for two weeks. Rey Mysterio he is not--nor ever will be. This lighting sucks. Why does this guy get his own lighting with no explanation?
Cole says you can see Sin Cara's popularity with his name trending on Twitter. Whatever. At least WWE is part of a new multimedia deal with Twitter, so give them props for monetizing that relationship with the social network. Sin Cara won with the La Mistica faceplant. No one cares. Crowd cheers because it's over.
Winner: SIN CARA
The announcers say NY/NJ fans are great and hype the WrestleMania XXIV venue Metlife Stadium across the parking lot of the Izod Center. Damn right we're great fans.
8. WWE Championship: CM Punk (C) vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Kane - AJ Lee will most likely be at ringside.
Here we go. Bryan got a huge ovation and Punk's was even more thunderous. Cole does an excellent job highlighting the success Punk's had, listing the superstars he's beaten during his reign that started last November at Survivor Series. Too bad the WWE Title hasn't been in a PPV main event in 2012. Sad.
Punk and Bryan momentarily work together to take out Kane who tried to double chokeslam them. They kick the crap out of Kane as the crowd chants YES! Punk and Bryan trade blows to YES WOO and WHOA chants. Punk backdrops Bryan out of the ring. Kane goes back on the offensive. Big knee by Punk on Kane. Kane outside the ring. Bryan dives onto Kane Top rope splash onto Bryan and Kane on the outside by Punk .Punk jumps into the crowd for a brief second. He throws Bryan back into the ring. Near fall. My buddy Joe Pompa tells me Bryan got the biggest pop in the arena. Pretty close with Punk and Bryan for biggest pop.
Kane slams Punk into the steel post. He does an abdominal stretch with the post on the outside. Drop kick by Kane onto Punk, focusing on his midsection. Kane attempts a body triangle, but Punk elbows his way out. Crowd is mild, but explodes when Bryan comes back in the ring. Bryan splashes Punk. Kane takes him out. Bryan recovers and hits Kane with a hard clothesline that staggers the big red man. Then, he kicks the hell out of Kane and is out of the ring. Back in the ring, Punk chops Bryan to WOOOOOO! chants. Bryan fires back. Snap suplex by Bryan.
Ben says AJ Lee's storyline is best featuring WWE Diva since Mae Young and Mark Henry. Someone's had a few drinks or doesn't remember Mickie James vs. Trish Stratus. Punk attempts a superplex. Kane comes in and hits Punk. Bryan flies and drop kicks both men down. Both wrestlers on their knees as Bryan hits them with stiff YES KICKS, taking Kane's head off. Punk ducks under and fires back. He gives Kane and Bryan high knees at the corners across the ring. Bulldog by Punk. Near fall by Punk on Kane after Bryan breaks it up. Powerslam by Punk on Bryan. Kick out.
