Randy Orton cuts a backstage promo with Matt Striker as the interviewer. Jericho interrupts and says he's gonna be a seven-time World Champ. This was every Randy Orton cliche'd line you've ever heard, but make no mistake about it: These two are arguably the best in-ring workers in WWE today minus Daniel Bryan, a healthy Rey Mysterio, and a couple others.
World Heavyweight Championship: Sheamus (C) vs. Alberto Del Rio (w/ Ricardo Rodriguez) vs. Chris Jericho vs. Randy Orton
Alberto Del Rio comes out but no explanation as to why he wasn't on TV the last week. How much momentum has that guy lost? I know I keep using that word. My bad. But it's true. Lilian Garcia does in-ring introductions. Orton gets the biggest pop, while Sheamus gets a mixed reaction. Orton and Sheamus face off early in this match--until the heels interrupt. Sheamus and Orton had a damn good match on Friday Night Smackdown I suggest y'all watch soon. The babyfaces take out the heels. It's a shame this caliber of superstars and this match hasn't gotten a better build up and video package. Stort of WWE today.
Before they can really fight, Del Rio takes Sheamus out. Crowd is chanting SI SI SI! Hot crowd + solid PPV thus far = entertaining show. The action spills on to the outside. when Del Rio attempts a cover on Mr. RKO, the "friendship" is over between heels. Del Rio hits a tilt a whirl backbreaker on Y2J. That move will never stop being awesome. Long live Eddie Guerrero and Dean Malenko. Uh-oh. Orton goes for a superplex on Jericho. Del Rio tried to powerbomb Orton. Sheamus knocks them outside the ring. Jericho looked like he landed painfully on the ropes. Orton needs to be careful with his spots, given his concussion history and injuries history so far this year.
Battering Ram by Sheamus. Sheamus trying to start a Brogue chant for his Brogue Kick. Nope. I don't even know what a Brogue is. Don't laugh. Ricardo Rodriguez distracts Sheamus. Del Rio hits an enziguiri for the nearfall. Cole calls Del Rio's father Mexican legend Dos CAROS. Let's just call Cole Dr. Lucha from now on. Not. Sheamus gets crowd to count to 10 as he clubs ADR on the chest. Jericho hits Sheamus and crowd pops big when Orton comes in and cleans house. Orton measures Sheamus up for the RKO until Del Rio catches him in the cross armbreaker.
Jericho breaks up the submission. Cole reminds us there's no disqualifications in a fatal four way match. At least he knows the rules. Lionsault on ADR, but he gets his knees up. Orton backbreaker on Jericho. Del Rio breaks up the pin. Irish Curse backbreaker to Del Rio. Brogue Kick misses Orton. Near RKO. Roll up by Sheamus. Kickout. Sheamus gets thrown shoulder first into the post by Orton. Double draping DDT from the middle rope on Ricardo and Del Rio. This match is awesome. Jericho nearly gets hit with an RKO but hits the Codebreaker and Orton falls out of the ring.
