Guest Host: NASCAR's Carl Edwards (who will be competing in the Daytona 500)
1. WWE Champion Sheamus def. ECW Champion Christian in a very good match that saw Captain Charisma interrupt the Celtic Warrior's chastising of the guest host, setting up this impromptu match.
Christian mentioned that once ECW goes off air in two weeks (aka National F-Bomb Day/My Birthday), every ECW wrestler will be free to sign with whichever show they want. Please release Croft and Jobbaretta or repackage them into something good. Please.
2. U.S. Champion The Miz and Big Show def. Unified Tag Team Champions DX and Straight Edge Society (CM Punk and Luke Gallows w/ Serena) in a Triple Threat Elimination Match to win the titles. Shawn Michaels tagged himself in when Triple H was just about to finish off Miz. It led to an argument between to the two, allowing Miz to push HBK into Triple H and roll him up for the upset victory. Go Miz!
(By the way, SES tried to "save" Jared from Subway who was in the crowd. No lie.)
After the match, DX argue. Backstage, HBK begs Smackdown GM Teddy Long to trade him to Smackdown and have him be involved in the World Title Elimination Chamber. That way he would defeat Undertaker and grant him his World Title rematch at WrestleMania and end his 17-0 streak all at once! Teddy rejected saying that the participants are already in place.
Triple H quickly intervened and asked Shawn "What about DX? Do you care that your career will be over?!"
HBK said "My career is over." He then Sweet Chin Musics Teddy Long straight to hell and walks out of the arena! I love this psychology!
3. Cody Rhodes def. Randy Orton via distraction by WWE Champion Sheamus. Huge win for Cody that saw Orton get pump kicked by Sheamus after the match. Cody held a steel chair to fend off Sheamus...or so we think (according to Jerry Lawler at least).
Guest host Carl Edwards arranged singles matches for Elimination Chamber participants on next week’s Raw. By the way, Jerry Springer is hosting Raw next week. Sorry, Jerry Jericho.
In other news, MizShow/ShowMiz cut a hilarious promo featuring Big Show say "Chris Jericho, you're not The Miz! The Miz treats me like an equal. He treats me like a friend!" Who would have thought Show was so sensitive?
4. Gail Kim def. Jillian Hall. At Elimination Chamber, Kim will face Maryse for the Divas Title. Oh boy....NOT.
5. Ted DiBiase vs. John Cena ended in a No-Contest after Cena destroyed Teddy on the outside.
Cena calls out Batista, who brutally attacked him after Raw went off the air last week (as they showed like 10 times). Instead, Cena gets Vince McMahon. Cena goes on a long, passionate and pretty awesome tangent about his love for the fans and business. He then asks Vince the million dollar question...
Bret Hart vs Vince McMahon at WrestleMania 26?!
Cena says Hitman wants it. Vince say no. And no. And no....until he's finally convinced to by Cena and the fans.
Out of nowhere, Bret Hart jumps McMahon once Cena leaves the ring! Damn is Hitman looking good. McMahon hides behind his security and says "I change my mind [on the match] because you deserve to be SCREWED!"
This leads to Hitman destroying most of the Raw set. Despite a minor trip up as he destroyed the pyrotechnic stuff, Hitman looked like he was in very good shape. The show ends with him standing in the middle of the ring in front of a hot Louisiana crowd.
Honestly, the best Raw I have seen in such a long time outside of Hitman's January 4th return.
My buddy Eric Walker said it best....The fans PAID to get in there, unlike those "cast members" in TNA. Hey TNA, WWE fans will actually pay to watch WWE shows, shocking isn't it?
That's just cold!
On a side note, WWE officially announced that "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase Sr. will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on March 27.
Great episode of Raw. A great night to be a wrestling fan. And a great night to be in Louisiana! Have a great week, everybody!
