WWE Friday Night Smackdown on SyFy Results (SPOILERS) for June 1, 2012
1. World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus cut a promo hyping his No Way Out PPV title match with Alberto Del Rio.David Otunga interrupted and demanded he apologized to WWE GM John Laurinaitis. Del Rio came out and did his shtick (it's his destiny, remember?). Sheamus gave Otunga and brogue kick. Del Rio ran away. Decent opening segment but nothing special.
2. Sin Cara returned to action to defeat Heath Slater in a nice match that had no botchamania moments! It's a start, right?
Dolph Ziggler faces Sheamus later tonight. Great, so Dolph goes from being a tag team jobber to a singles jobber again.
3. Damien Sandow cut a boring promo about enlightenment and then beat Ezekiel Jackson. Highlight of this was Sandow's pastel tights and obnoxious cartwheel.
4. Ryback killed two dudes in a jobberific handicap match.
5. World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus def. Dolph Ziggler, Jobber to The Stars in a non-title match. Not fair to Zig Zag Man, but good match nonetheless. So much for Ziggler vs. Randy Orton....
6. Cody Rhodes def. Tyson Kidd. Rhodes confronted Christian post-match to possibly to set up their Intercontinental Championship match at the No Way Out PPV on June 17.
Daniel Bryan told his ex-girlfriend AJ Lee backstage that CM Punk is using her. The plot thickens.
7. WWE Championship: CM Punk (C) def. Kane via disqualification after Daniel Bryan attacked both wrestlers. Kane chokeslammed both to hell. Laurinaitis booked a triple threat match for No Way Out. Yes, because we needed Kane is a F'N title match. AJ Lee teased leaving with either Punk or Bryan, but walked out alone. Bryan bitchslapped Punk, only to eat a GTS for his troubles.
