WWE NXT TakeOver Houston: WarGames Results – Toyota Center in Houston, TX and live on WWE Network – November 18, 2017

Lars Sullivan def. Kassius Ohno. Ohno got some offense in, but was mainly put in this match to make Sullivan look good. Ohno played his role as well as he could, but it is tough watching legitimately one of the best workers in wrestling lose in lopsided fashion in the opener of an NXT TakeOver.

Aleister Black def. Velveteen Dream. Surprisingly fantastic match. Velveteen Dream received a huge ovation. Post-match, Black finally said Dream’s name to put a cap on their NXT feud — for now.

NXT TakeOver: Philadelphia is confirmed for Royal Rumble 2018 Weekend.

Ember Moon won a Fatal 4-Way Match featuring Nikki Cross, Peyton Royce, and Kairi Sane to become new WWE NXT Women’s Champion. Moon hit a double Eclipse on Cross and Royce to get the win. Fun match with plenty of good nearfalls.

Andrade “Cien” Almas (with Zelena) def. Drew McIntyre to become the new WWE NXT Champion. Very good match, but did not have the heat of the previous two bouts. McIntyre was booked like Roman Reigns and John Cena in his prime, kicking out of literally everything even with Zelena (Thea Trinidad) interfering. Well, almost everything. Almas got the win after a second Hammerlock DDT.

Unfortunately for McIntyre, it was confirmed on the NXT TakeOver post-show by Triple H that he may have suffered a torn bicep.

Authors of Pain unleash carnage on everyone in sight:

Undisputed ERA (Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, Bobby Fish) def. SAnitY (Alexander Wolfe, Eric Young, Killian Dain) and The Authors of Pain & Roderick Strong in a WarGames Match. Cole pinned Young to win the match for his team. Tremendous half hour match that saw plenty of nearfalls and dangerous spots. This definitely delivered.
