WWE has come to terms on the releases of WWE superstars Emma, Darren Young and Summer Rae. WWE wishes them the best in all of their future endeavors.

The timing of these releases is bizarre for a number of reasons. Emma was just in a program with the debuting Asuka that saw her get way more offense than expected for a character in her creative position. Summer Rae had reportedly been medically cleared to wrestle for quite some time and like Emma, does a phenomenal job of promoting herself without WWE’s help. And Darren Young was just at WWE Night at the Los Angeles Clippers game on behalf of the company on Saturday.

Considering all three have rehabbed major injuries under the company’s watch and done nothing but positively promoted themselves without much creative backing, I’d say these releases are not a good look for WWE. With the European tour right around the corner, this can’t be a great moral boost for WWE superstars who are mostly underpaid and have to deal with a rigorous travel schedule — which includes working Christmas this year.

Hopefully, Emma, Rae, and Young all land on their feet and find greater success outside of the WWE machine.
